"Mamut" trumpet

The melting of the Arctic is uncovering the remains of animals that were extinct more than 10,000 years ago, during the Pleistocene. We crafted the decorations of this very special trumpet from the ivory of one of those woolly mammoths.

All the sound tubes are made of bronze, the first and most successful metal alloy discovered by man. It has an inverted leadpipe and an extra-large 150 mm bell, giving it an extraordinarily dark sound.

It was designed together with and for the great Enrique Rodríguez “Enriquito.”
